Maine Residents:

For new registrations

bill of sale 
5.5% State sales tax on the purchase price for a private sale. For a dealer sale, sales tax is collected at the time of sale (if purchased in the State of Maine).

$42.00 ($40.00 registration fee for State and $2.00 agent fee for Town)

For renewal registrations

a copy of the previous registration.

$41.00 ($40.00 registration fee for State and $1.00 agent fee for Town)

Non-residents:

previous registration or a bill of sale.
3-Day registration -  $44 ($43 registration plus $1 agent fee)
Seasonal registration - $89 ($88 registration plus $1 agent fee)

All snowmobile registrations expire on June 30.
