Purchased a vehicle at a Dealership:

Blue title application form
Window sticker (for brand new vehicles)

Payment for excise tax, registration & agent fee
Purchased a vehicle through private sale:
Bill of sale (This links to the State of Maine, Bureau of Motor Vehicles suggested form)
(with year, make, model, vin#, new & previous owners names & addresses, )
Title (1995 or newer) signed over to new owner on the back & also signed by previous owner
(If there are errors on the back of the title, you can get a new title back from the Town Office)

Purchase a Motor Vehicle out of state:

Trailer - new & re-registrations are basically the same as motor vehicles except:
No excise tax on trailers
EXCEPT FOR CAMPERS OR HORSE TRAILERS WITH SLEEPERS (registered for 1 year)
Can be registered for 1 or 2 years. (Longer at the state level)
Titles are required for trailers that weigh more than 3000 lbs.
